Kitchen Coordinator – Therapeutic Community
We’re seeking an experienced Kitchen Coordinator to lead daily kitchen operations at our residential program in the south of Canberra. This is more than just a kitchen leadership role – it’s an opportunity to teach valuable life skills to our program residents. Our Kitchen Coordinator works day shifts, from Monday to Friday only.
What you’ll do:
This role works alongside adults participating in our residential rehabilitation program focused on recovery and healing. The kitchen coordinator manages our Therapeutic Community kitchen with responsibility for menu planning, ordering and stock control for our residential programs, cooking duties and compliance with health and safety requirements. A core component of this role is mentoring our residents through the teaching of cooking and kitchen management skills, menu planning, nutrition and health and safety.
What you’ll bring:
- Industry qualifications in commercial cookery and experience in a similar role
- A passion for sharing your skills and knowledge with others through mentoring and training
- Creative menus that are nutritious and affordable
- Exceptional organisational skills to manage inventory, orders and schedules efficiently
- Working knowledge of health and safety regulations and food safety standards

Karralika Programs Inc. is a not-for-profit specialist alcohol and other drug organisation that provides programs for people in the Canberra and the surrounding areas.
We support adults, young people and families to reduce the harms association with alcohol and other drug use through a variety of residential and community-based programs.
