Finance Officer – Head Office (Part-time)

About the Role

The Finance Officer is a part-time role within the Corporate Services team, which supports the organisation through high-quality services in finance, HR, IT, and administration. The Corporate Services team ensures that systems, policies, communications, and support mechanisms are in place to enable the delivery of safe, effective, and values-based services across all programs.

This role is responsible for a broad range of financial and administrative duties that support the organisation’s operational and service delivery needs. The work spans the day-to-day processing of financial transactions, reconciliations, reporting, and supplier engagement, as well as direct support for staff and clients across various program areas.

What you’ll be working on:

  • Bank and card reconciliations, payment process run
  • Support payroll processing
  • Undertake accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR), ensuring timely payments and collections
  • Financial information analysis and reporting requirements
  • General financial month and year-end tasks
  • Support data collection, entry and record keeping
  • Support for Client Finance activities including client trust accounts, reconciliation, reporting, liaising with Centrelink and Karralika case management team

What you’ll bring:

The successful candidate will have strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple financial workflows efficiently and accurately as well as contributing to continuous system improvements. You will have a great attitude, values alignment and aptitude for working with others, especially engaging with clients, staff, suppliers and other stakeholders.

You will have:

  • A Certificate IV, Diploma, or bachelor’s degree in accounting or bookkeeping.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ accounting/financial experience in a similar role, preferably within the community services, not for profit or aged care sectors.
  • Working With Vulnerable People clearance, or ability to obtain one.
  • Proficient in using financial systems and tools (e.g. Xero, Excel, Lightyear, Employment Hero Payroll), or ability to quickly learn new platforms.
