Case Manager – Justice Services – Solaris Program

This role is part of a team supporting detainees within the Canberra prison. The position works within a multi-disciplinary team with staff from both Karralika Programs and ACT Corrections to provide one on one AOD case management and facilitation of group program with detainees recovering from problematic alcohol and other drug use. Aftercare support is also an essential component of the Justice Services programs, and the successful candidate/s may be required to work with those recently released from custody to support reintegration into the community.

You’ll be values driven, professional, energetic and non-judgemental in your approach to working with colleagues, services and detainees (participants of Solaris). You’ll have solid experience in case management and therapeutic interventions including facilitating groups and one-to-one sessions. Experience in working in a custodial setting or with individuals connected to the justice system is highly valued. Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills are essential. You will be joining a supportive and close-knit team, in a values-based organisation who sees the potential in every individual.

You will require a minimum Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs or an equivalent qualification in fields such as mental health or community services however significant on the ground experience in working with people with complex needs is required.

In order to fulfil this role you will also require a current Working with Vulnerable People’s Clearance, a National Police Check and have or be eligible to obtain AMC Security clearance.
