Rebecca Wood – Clinical Services Director

What do you do at Karralika?

As a Clinical Services Director I am a member of the Karralika Programs Executive and I contribute to and share the leadership responsibility for the successful implementation of the organisation’s strategic objectives, adhering to and actively promoting the organisation’s values, vision and mission, effectiveness, and sustainability.

I am responsible for the clinical development, evaluation and design of programs, clinical practice and provision of sound advice and staff practice support. I ensure systems and supports are in place to meet the highest quality of the organisation’s programs and clinical governance. Overseeing the Quality Improvement and Compliance Committee I also coordinate and lead the accreditation processes. I work in partnership with the CEO to establish and maintain strong relationships with key partners and stakeholders for the effective development and delivery of the organisation’s programs.

What do you like about working at Karralika?

Working at Karralika supports me to be authentic and work with integrity, as their values align with my own. I have always been drawn to supporting individuals and helping them become the best versions of themselves. Karralika creates a space for me to be able to live out my values, putting the client at the heart of everything we do, whilst supporting the growth and potential of its staff, stakeholders and the wider community. I feel truly blessed to be working at Karralika and I am excited for the journey ahead.

What is your background?

I hold 20 years’ experience in clinical and senior management roles, across the alcohol tobacco and other drugs sector (ATOD), and the criminal justice sector in Australia and England. I have had the privilege of working in many roles, with hands on experience in counselling, case management and day programs as a well as working knowledge in therapeutic community theory model and method. I’ve been part of outreach teams, worked in prisons, hospitals, the community, and residential settings along with corporate and executive teams.

I hold a degree in psychology and criminology, diplomas in Management/Leadership and Business Governance, along with many other sector specific certificates. I am an Accredited Drug and Alcohol Professional (FDAP, UK), an accredited Being Profile Practitioner and a Thrive Coach. I focus on uplifting others to see their true potential and am inspired by the true individualism of every one of us and how people flourish when they are truly seen and able to be themselves.

I love working in the ATOD sector alongside so many passionate and committed individuals who all have such drive and ambition to help others.
