Danny Grayswood – A/g Manager – Adult Program

What do you do at Karralika?

I am the Acting Manager, Residential Services at Karralika Programs, leading a Canberra based team delivering safe, trauma informed and person centred care through our residential therapeutic community.

My role combines strategic leadership with hands on oversight of day to day operations at our 25-bed residential service. I focus on strengthening systems, supporting staff, and continuously improving our programs to ensure we deliver high quality, evidence informed services and meaningful outcomes for people in recovery.

What do you like about working at Karralika?

I choose to work with Karralika because it embodies a rare synthesis of hope, compassion, and unwavering belief in the capacity for change. Every day I get to see people reclaiming agency over their lives and that drives my commitment.

I value Karralika’s real commitment to evidence-based service design and to providing all staff with opportunities to contribute to our programs and the management of our operations.

What is your background?

I have worked with Karralika for eight years and prior to this I worked in private enterprise, including running my own businesses. My connection to Karralika began as a client, and the profound impact of that experience led me to study and a career in the alcohol and other drugs (AOD) sector. That lived experience continues to shape my approach, grounding my work in empathy, accountability and a strong belief in recovery.

I bring a practical business management skillset with a focus on building efficient and effective operations, staff resilience, improved processes, and creating environments where both staff and residents thrive.
