TC Counsellor-Permanent Full time

Male Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Cultural Support and Liaison Worker – Part Time

LOCATION: Canberra

This is an exciting part time role in our organisation to provide cultural support to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander men and women, and their children, who are participating in our programs. The role will actively engage our Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander clients, assisting them to better connect with their culture, community, and history. Parts of this role will also include working with men in the Alexander Maconochie Centre (AMC) and you will be required to undertake Security Awareness Training to access the AMC.

The role will liaise with Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs)/groups, Elders, and community leaders, enhancing opportunities to work more closely with, and/or in partnership to better support our clients’ cultural needs.

This role will work with the current Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander cultural support and liaison worker across all program areas in the ACT. Some activities will be inclusive of non-Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people participating and working within our programs. As this role will involve supporting Men’s Business, it is a genuine occupational qualification for the position that the role be filled by a male, as provided for in Section s34(1) of the Discrimination Act 1991.

Solaris Case Manager – Full Time

LOCATION: Canberra

Solaris Case Manager; the role is located in our rehabilitation program (Solaris) within the Canberra prison. This position primarily works within a multi-disciplinary team with staff from both Karralika Programs and Corrections to provide one on one case management and facilitation of the group program with detainees recovering from problematic alcohol and other drug use. Aftercare support is also an essential component of the Solaris program and the successful candidate may be required to work with Solaris graduates recently released into the community.

Community Services Case Manager – Full Time

Community Services Case Manager; this role is located with our Community Services programs working with Adult’s and Families which may include children residing in the community. AOD Non-Residential Withdrawal Nurse – Multiple Positions Part / Full Time available

LOCATION: Canberra

As a result of additional funding to expand and enhance the Non-Residential Withdrawal program across Canberra, we are looking to recruit Registered Nurses (Div 1 & 2 medication endorsed) who have experience in providing alcohol and drug treatment. Multiple positions are available for full-time or part-time roles.

The Non-Residential Withdrawal program operates within the multi-disciplinary Community team, and provides engagement and screening, comprehensive assessment, treatment planning, support to an individual to reduce or withdraw from substance whilst in the comfort of their own home, relapse prevention strategies, coordinated care with other providers, high quality transfer of care, secondary consultation, and education sessions to other health providers.

We are also looking for Registered Nurses have experience working with young people and Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people or communities who would like to work in this exciting new space.

Child and Youth AOD Nurse – Full Time

LOCATION: Wagga

We are looking for Registered Nurses (Div 1) with knowledge and/or experience in the alcohol and drug (AOD) sector to work within a small multidisciplinary team in Wagga Wagga, NSW.

The RN supports children & young people aged 10 – 19 years old (and their families) who have, or are effected by AOD issues. The nurse works with a counsellor and primarily provides comprehensive AOD and health assessment, withdrawal/reduction support from substances and improves the health and well-being of the child/young person.
