Karuna Short-stay Program

Through our Adult and Child and Family Programs, Karralika Programs Inc. offers single adults, couples and families with rehabilitative care within a residential setting. The Karuna Short-stay program was developed as the first phase of rehabilitation within the Therapeutic Community model.

About the Program

The Karuna Short-stay Program offers individuals the chance to experience what it is like to be part of a Therapeutic Community and the benefits of a residential program.
Individuals are supported and introduced to the Therapeutic Community model, its principles, practices and language. Group and individual sessions and education seminars form part of the Karuna Short-stay Program. A range of social and living skills development activities are offered over the course of the 8 week program to help residents gather basic knowledge about their health and alcohol or other drug use and develop skills to support their growth and life change.

At the end of the Program, individuals can move into the next phase of the Therapeutic Community at Karralika through the Adult Program or the Child and Family Services to continue their growth and rehabilitation in the residential setting.

Individuals are also offered the option of moving into the Karralika Programs Inc. Nexus Program (including the Men’s Halfway House and After-care program) to continue their treatment. Some might choose to move back into the community and will be supported through the Karralika Programs Inc. Outreach Program. Our staff can also assist individuals find another service that is right for them and their needs.
