The Child and Family Services Program supports adults with alcohol and other drug dependencies and accompanying children with rehabilitative care within a residential therapeutic community setting for up to 12 months.
About the Program
The Child and Family Services Program at Karralika Programs Inc. offers treatment for the whole family, providing the opportunity for young children to reside with their parents while they are undertaking the Program. The children’s program at Karralika TC is supported by a Social Worker and Family Case Workers. Children participate in an early childhood development program either through full-time daycare or in after-school care or holiday programs. Targeted interventions including play therapies are included in the program as appropriate. Parents also take part in counseling and parenting programs and cognitive behavioural therapies which seek to develop positive parent/child/family relationships.
Family Support
Substance use not only impacts on the individual but can have long lasting effects on the family. Support is available to families whose loved one is participating in a Karralika Treatment Program. Our staff can provide opportunities and supports to improve family relationships, build supportive, practical and effective communications between family members or just provide information about alcohol and drug addiction. Support for access visits is also available and can help start the process that could lead to family restoration.
